The RESNET® Board of Directors has appointed Thiel Butner of the Pando Alliance to be a HERS® Rating Company representative on the Board. Ms. Butner will fill the remaining term of office of Bob Eipert who resigned from the Board due to the increased workload caused by the expansion of his HERS® Rating company. Ms. Butner is the principal of the Pando Alliance, a rating company based in Maryland. Her experience in service to RESNET includes: Chair, Enclosures Subcommittee of the SDC 300 (2018 – present) Vice Chair, Sampling Subcommittee of the SDC 900 (2018 – present) Member, Standards Development Committee (SDC) 300 (2017 – present) Member, Multifamily Rater Specialization Task Force of the SDC 200 (2016 – 2017) Member, Multifamily HERS® Ratings Subcommittee of the SDC 300 (2016 – 2017) Frequent presenter at annual RESNET Conference RESNET Executive Director Steve Baden commented on Ms. Butner’s appointment, “I am very pleased to welcome Thiel Butner to the RESNET Board of Directors. In her work as the chair of the SDC 300 Enclosures Subcommittee, Ms. Butner’s performance has been stellar. Thiel was able to get the rating of the quality of the installation of insulation into the RESNET ANSI standard. This was the roadblock to incorporating the rating of the installation of insulation into the IECC. Because of Thiel’s leadership this year there are a number of proposed 2021 IECC amendments to incorporate the standard into code.” Thiel’s term expires on December 31, 2020.
