On May 2, 2024, as part of the RESNET® 2024 Policy Forum, 49 members of the RESNET community met in person with their House and Senate representatives explaining the importance of home energy performance, the HERS® Index, and RESNET. Topics included: • Preserving 45L Federal Tax Credit for Energy Efficient Homes • Implementation of New Veterans Loan Energy Efficient Mortgage Program to Allow Veterans to Afford Energy Efficient Homes • Support for Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac Green Bond Mortgage Back Securities Programs • Establishment of a New Federal Tax Credit for Water Efficient Homes The comments received from those who ventured to Capitol Hill were that the message were well received by their Congressional representatives. RESNET appreciates those visiting their Congressional representatives for taking the time to make the HERS industry heard on Capitol Hill.
