RESTalk EP17: RESNET 2019 Goals and Priorities

Jan 21, 2019

It’s the new year where we all set some goals and priorities for ourselves. RESNET is no different and has set their goals and priorities for 2019.

In this episode, RESNET Executive Director Steve Baden covers the programs and initiatives that are rolling out in 2019 and beyond.

From increasing consumer awareness and demand to sustaining and enhancing the quality of ratings, RESNET is working hard to continue to be the Gold Standard for measuring and labeling home performance.

Some new aspects: the HERS H2O® Water Rating Index, changes to the house size adjustment factor and changes to the HVAC performance installation standard should be in full swing by the time of the 2019 RESNET Building Performance Conference. In addition, RESNET is working to improve the user online experience with a new and improved website and plans to launch a new marketing campaign to consumers and builders via social media.

2018 finished strong with ratings up by 10,000 over 2017, and growing engagement from more diverse and younger participants in the RESNET ecosystem (such as via the RESNET Emerging Leadership Council). You can see a handy infographic detailing the goals and priorities of the organization here.
