RESNET® is proud to announce its recognition by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as a Home Certification Organization (HCO) for the DOE Zero Energy Ready Home Single Family Homes V2 Nationally. CalCERTS is RESNET®’s provider for ZERH in California. What is a DOE Zero Energy Ready Home? A DOE Zero Energy Ready Home is a high-performance home that is so energy efficient a renewable energy system could offset most or all of the home’s annual energy use. Each DOE Zero Energy Ready Home meets rigorous efficiency and performance criteria found in the DOE Zero Energy Ready Home National Program Requirements. Builders can receive up to a $5,000 federal tax credit. The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 amended the 45L tax credit to extend it through 2032. Effective January 1, 2023, single-family homes achieving the Zero Energy Ready Home certification are eligible for a federal tax credit of $5,000. Multifamily dwelling units are eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $5,000. For more detailed information about the 45L tax credits, visit the DOE webpage.
